General Accountabilities:

Support the Manager, Community Investment and Internal Communications and the Director, communications to support the company and department goals:

- Work with executives to provide advise on communications materials that are in line with the Company’s strategy and Internal or External Communications plans

- Show discretion when dealing with material or confidential information

- Develop materials consistent with the company strategy and Internal or External Communications plans

- Develop a communications calendar based on strategic objectives.

- Manage staff and review and approve collateral to support communications and line of business goals and objectives

- Provide strategic advise and best practices to executives and Lines of Businesses in support of their goals and objectives

- Develop, coordinate and execute events

- Develop communications materials, speaking notes and messages from executive leadership team consistent with the strategy

- Liaise with executive leadership team and develop internal and external materials consistent with the company strategy

- Other duties as required

- Assist the Manager with monitoring Lines of Business implementation of strategic initiatives and assess for alignment and consistency with the Company’s strategic plan and for optimization opportunities.

- Support the Manager in ensuring all materials are aligned and consistent with the Corporate strategy and Internal or External communication plans

- Conduct research and analyses to support the Company’s strategic initiatives.

- Assist in other assignments as required.

Selection Criteria:

- Experience in internal or corporate communications, including proven experience writing for executives, event planning and key message development

- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior leadership

- Comfort working with executives, sensitive and confidential information, exercising sound judgment and discretion

- Experience developing communication plans tied to organizational strategy or change management initiatives

- Comfort and experience making decisions around material and confidential information

- Excellent analytical, written, and communication skills

- Ability to grasp concepts quickly

- Demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal skills

- Organizational and planning skills; ability to reprioritize work as required and deal with ambiguity

- Candidate must possess strong time-management skills

- This is normally considered to be acquired through at least 5 years of senior progressive work experience

- Requires a 4-year University degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent. Postgraduate certificate is an asset
