We are currently hiring for the role of Senior Accountant.
The Senior Accountant position will play a pivotal role in the financial and operations accounting of Bidell Gas Compression’s Finance group, including the Fabrication, Parts & Service, and Rental divisions, and will work under the direction of the Bidell Finance Controller.
The successful candidate will be accountable for leading the month-end close process and assist with special projects for the following:
- Assisting with preparation of the monthly consolidated reporting packages and providing input into the Company’s Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), as well as supporting schedules.
- Preparing the monthly and quarterly journal entries including revenue and cost accruals, capital, intercompany transactions, reclassifications, and other applicable General Ledger (GL) account entries with supporting documentation.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly management financial reporting and analysis.
- Completing accounting policy research and providing recommendations on appropriate treatments under IFRS.
- Preparing working papers and assisting with various requests related to annual internal and external audits.
- Assist with the company’s ERP system implementation.
- Assisting with weekly treasury activities.
- Preparing monthly GL account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
- Budgeting and forecasting to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Providing support to operations and other divisional groups within the finance function.
- Maintaining capital asset continuity including AFE setup, amortization calculation, capital gain or loss for disposal.
- Reconciling monthly rental fleets and accruing the revenue and expenses.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by the controller.
This is an exciting and challenging leadership position in a growing company. The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience and personality attributes:
- A university degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA designation or successfully challenged the CFE.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role with a preference with manufacturing and oil field services experience.
- Understanding of IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skillset.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics (SL) software will be an asset.
- Ability to work effectively within tight deadlines and multiple projects.
