You will be joining a team of enterprise technology analysts working in a fast paced and dynamic work environment dedicated to leading edge SAP, CRM, and Smart Grid applications specifically related to the SAP utility industry solution IS-U CCS and other enterprise applications. We are responsible for the design, configuration, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of these enterprise applications to ensure that they are reliable, accessible, and meet the needs of the business units that we support.

Performs specialized business process and technical support utilizing SMUD's various enterprise and other integrated technology solutions in the areas of design, configuration, operation, maintenance, and enhancement; serves as a key functional resource to the user community to ensure reliability, accessibility and effectiveness to meet the needs of the business unit overall.
There are five (5) levels in this job classification series that have similar job content but with progressively more challenging degrees and levels of skill, responsibility, knowledge, experience and qualification requirements:

Entry/Intermediate to Journey: Incumbents at the entry (or intermediate) level are required to successfully “progress” to the journey level within 60 months of appointment to remain within the job series.
Incumbents will focus on the following five specialty areas detailed below:
Enterprise application systems design, configuration, and functionality and/or techniques of configuration, design and functionality; applications of implementation strategies; concepts of the system development lifecycle; concepts of data modeling, structured query language, scripting, report design, data maintenance and retrieval; moderately complex computer systems and resources, electronic records, and database administration functions; techniques and practices for resolving moderately complex technical issues; methods and techniques of planning, organizing, and overseeing work activities; techniques for exercising leadership and authority; methods and techniques of training staff; basic budgeting techniques; fundamentals of business letter writing and basic report preparation; office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Assess business processes and match user requirements to system capabilities; develop detailed specifications; determine system integration points; develop testing criteria and conduct testing; troubleshoot moderately complex user and system problems; perform ad hoc reporting and make script changes to reports and forms; act as functional lead on moderately complex projects; identify, assess, and coordinate training needs for staff; evaluate and resolve moderately complex technical and/or management issues and develop/implement resolution alternatives; compile and prepare routine technical, statistical and/or analytical reports and presentations; express ideas/facts clearly and concisely one-on-one or to groups, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; stay abreast of new IT technology, tools and methods to support and develop business applications; utilize a personal computer, systems and software relevant to the job; communicate effectively orally and in writing internally/externally; establish and maintain effective internal/external working relationships and work effectively in and with diverse teams.
Electric utility experience utilizing and supporting one or more of the following:
-Device management, including experience with SAP AMI MDUS model
-Rates and pricing, including implementation of price updates
-Billing and invoicing, including collective billing and Budget Billing
-Bill print, including use of OpenText Document Presentment
-5 or more years of experience analyzing, designing, and configuring complex rates, rate categories, and billing schemas.
-Ability to translate business requirements into detailed rate designs.
-Experience developing rate structures to support various types of rates, including:
-Experience incorporating discounts and surcharges into rate configuration.
-Experience configuring the Energy Data Management (EDM) solution in support of rate implementations.
-Experience working in an MDUS-enabled environment, including configuration of Time-of-Use interfaces.
-Experience utilizing, and making changes to, custom tables to support rate implementations.
-Experience working in a multi-jurisdictional utility or a large single jurisdictional utility with concurrent rate actions.
-Experience performing extensive testing of new rate configuration, and regression testing of existing rate configuration.
-Experience troubleshooting billing issues, including ability to debug ABAP code.
-Knowledge of master data components and how they relate to the lifecycle of the business partner.
