As a sales associate, it is your responsibility to provide support to our growing customer base and effectively relay this information to shop personnel. This includes but is not limited to phone calls, order enquiries/entries, accessory gathering, and quotes. It is important that you have a strong understanding of the products we sell to best help our customers.
· Working as a sales representative it is important to keep a good line of communication with the shop and know how to navigate customer questions.
· You must be able to work through simple math equations in order entry and quoting.
· This is a fast-paced higher stress position. At Lifetime Metal Sales we push quality and speed. In your role you must stay calm and move thru customer questions with informative answers and understand your co-workers’ limitations. Your team feeds off how you respond to busy days. How you respond effects everyone.
· You must be able to work through customer complaints and issues while protecting your coworkers.
· You must be able to navigate through machine malfunctions or get the necessary help for repairing your machine if necessary.
· All time must be used effectively to complete daily duties and to minimize idle time.
· We all work together to get our ever-growing customer base the best quality material this company can offer. In doing so we must function well together as a unit helping each other when needed and doing your job to the best of your ability.
· Safety is our biggest concern. You must be aware of your safety and the safety of all your coworkers. Be sure safe work habits are always practiced as well as proper PPE worn when necessary. Please report any safety concerns to management.
· Encourage your team to wear gloves when doing certain tasks.
· Make sure that your team completes the online safety shorts and any other safety meetings.
· Make sure you are always doing your job completely double check order entry to get the customers the right product the first time.
· Be comfortable with stopping production if you see unacceptable quality and notify proper management if necessary.
· Help Lifetime Metal Sales to achieve a high level of accuracy in meeting customer’s needs. (Correct amounts, colors, and profiles etc.)
· Review the errors we are making with your team to come up with ways to improve our accuracy.
· Keep your equipment clean and functioning properly
· Help the other employees in the office to maintain a good quality of orders. We are all in this together.
· Make sure you are actively learning about ever-changing computer programs to best serve our customers.
· Work to improve your quoting capability and accuracy.
· Learn to ask the appropriate questions to understand what the customer really wants.
· Help keep Lifetime Metal Sales be an enjoyable place to work. Communicate with the shop about your work schedule and with any concerns you may have with order lead times.
· Ask your manager when you are needing assistance in your department.
· Work with maintenance personnel to keep your machines in good shape.
· Do daily/weekly/monthly maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
· Help us to maximize the shop layout now and in the future.
· Suggest and help us to implement new ways of improving trim shop performance.
· Appropriately defend your orders and work to shorten lead time.
