Position Summary: Marketing and sales of refined petroleum product from Anchorage and by direct customer contact in rural Alaska. Position may require some travel throughout Alaska.
- The employee is required to perform the job in a safe and sensible manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
- Solicit and take product orders.
- Comply with pricing policies as developed by management.
- Administer fuel delivery orders.
- Confirm customer compacities, order changes, and product types.
- Identify customer funding method and communicate that for use by other departments.
- Assist in preparation of proposals and bids.
- Maintain master customer contact file, order files and future files.
- Assist dispatch in load plan development for all marine direct deliveries.
- Notify customers of upcoming fuel/barge deliveries.
- Review all trip files for delivery and price identification.
- Track all vessel deliveries in progress to ensure receipt of meter tickets in a timely manner.
- Maintain and track market index price information on a consistent basis.
- Work closely with dispatch to ensure accurate information exchange and product delivery.
- Communicate with accounting and inventory departments to ensure accurate pricing, billing and customer order tracking.
- Assist in planning and organizing marketing events.
- Assist in planning and participate in local and regional industry functions.
- Maintain inventory of marketing and promotional items.
- Generate quotes and send the approved quote to the customer.
- Take orders from customers by telephone, mail, or facsimile; maintains an up to date list of customers and addresses.
- Tracks bids and fuel orders and maintains a list for use by other departments.
- Upon receipt of a customer order, administrator processes the order in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepares order forms and communicates it to the customer.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
