Sales Account Manager - Manufacturing

Summary

Interact with customers to provide basic or scripted information in response to inquiries about products and services. May handle and resolve general complaints. Facilitate sale of goods to customers by processesing and confirming sales orders. Work requires knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing and machining processes.

Minimum Qualifications

· 2-year degree or 5 years of successful account management experience

· 3 years manufacturing experience

· Ability to read and interpret documents, such as sales orders, written directions and reports

· Ability to write reports

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

· Proficient with Outlook

· Familiarity with production software

Essential Functions

· Utilize account management skills to establish and maintain long term and strategic relationships with assigned customers, promote our capabilities, work through challenges, and grow the business

· Grow business with existing accounts and develop new customers

· Maintain strong working relationships with internal production and management teams

· Follow up with customers on a timely basis to provide the highest level of customer service, and ensure all customer inquiries have the proper follow-up procedures documented.

· Manage the sales process by keeping projects on track, providing accurate and timely proposals, and facilitating information exchange between the customer and internal teammates

· Consult with production team to confirm that requested customer delivery dates are viable

· Process sales orders

· Manage customer complaints, returns, and corrective actions as per ISO policies and procedures

· Acquire knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, limitations, and costing variables

· Become efficient in the utilization of production software

· Maintain a pipeline of prospective accounts and projects to fuel growth within our current scope

· Other duties as assigned or requested

Physical Demands

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment

Primarily an office position. However, overall environment is a sheet metal fabrication shop. Worker could be subject to high noise levels and exposed to heavy machinery. Worker may be exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles. Sheet metal can cause cuts and lacerations. Metal is highly conductive of thermal energy. Burns are possible when metal is exposed to open flames or a heat source. Inhaling sheet metal dust can increase the chances of respiratory illness. Exposure to oil and grease is possible. Machinery such as turrets, lasers, press brakes, shears, saws, and mills can cause bodily harm in the event of improper operation or malfunction.
