This is a full-time position with benefits on a travel construction crew that is stationed in Winter Haven, FL until late in 2025. You are welcome to continue employment and travel to the next job when the current job wraps up.

The Safety Specialist I will assist the Corporate Safety Director in an administrative capacity to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the company’s safety record keeping and requirements, compliance, and continued development of the safety program. This person will also assist the job superintendent in daily administrative tasks.
1. Document and ensure all employees are signed in/out and have completed their daily timecards.
2. Document and deliver all necessary General Contractors’ paperwork which includes any Daily task forms, pre-task forms to be performed, hot work permits and safety documentations.
3. Provide all assistance and support to superintendent and any necessary task needed to help superintendent with daily task. This includes any documentation, ordering, inventorying, deliveries, assistance to employees, communication of home office, safety/inspections, and any field out needed on job site.
4. Inspect and document all safety documentation required by either GC or RRI.
5. Complete all “new hire” documentation and training procedures for new employees. This process includes helping new hires complete the application process, drug testing, RRI training requirements and safety training. This includes providing any safety equipment needed.
6. Make sure the superintendent has all necessary equipment, tools, safety equipment and supplies needed daily for employees. This includes ordering supplies, inspecting equipment, repairing equipment, (if necessary) and restocking materials/supplies as needed.
7. Inventory and continue to keep organized office/tool trailer.
8. Inspect daily with a walk-through, ensuring all employees are wearing proper PPE, and if not, make sure they are aware of safety procedures, and require them to always have it on. Also inspect equipment to ensure all equipment is in proper working conditions. If not, tag equipment as out of service and either replace or repair tagged equipment.
9. Provide help to all employees who need assistance with locating any and all equipment to perform daily tasks.
10. In the field, perform any help needed which includes fire watch, spotting for equipment, painting pipe, etc.
11. Completely weekly/monthly job “walk throughs” for safety inspections of overall job, ladder inspections and monthly fire extinguishers inspections.
12. Inspect and implement replacement of any safety equipment including harnesses, yo-yos, chokers, and retractable.
13. Provide, inspect, and service all first aid equipment required to have on jobsite. This includes any ordering for replacement of out-of-date supplies and documentation required monthly.
14. As designated on-site safety personnel, maintain active CPR and First Aid certifications and make sure all necessary safety documents are displayed clearly and properly for all employees to see and have available to them.
15. Provide any and all help any employee may need to include questions about employment, RRIs procedures, locating equipment, etc.
16. Attend all safety meetings that the General Contractor has on a daily/ weekly/ monthly basis.
2. OSHA 510 certified (Occupational Safety & Health Standards for the Construction Industry)
3. First Aid / CPR / BBP certified.
4. Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations.
5. Familiarity with the tools, machines, and equipment used in the workplace.
9. Computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology used in the industry.
10. Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people.
11. Experience with Office 365 and auditor safety software
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.
13. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
