Job Summary

Responsible for preparing, advising and assisting management on the administration of safety and health (S&H) event prevention policies and procedures, including public safety matters across the Indiana Michigan Power market. Responsible to disseminate safety and health information throughout their areas of responsibility, for coordinating the implementation of safety and health programs for use, for conducting S&H observations and visitations, and for rendering guidance on S&H event prevention to other members of management. Advising on S&H governmental regulations and assisting/advising the local management in handling any public liability and event analysis as needed. Work with Safety and Health management as requested in the development and implementation of advanced S&H technical and training programs.

Safety & Health Coordinator- Safety & Health Consultant Sr: What You’ll Do

- Assist organizations in developing long-term safety and health performance improvement strategies and the tactics to execute that strategy.

- Develop and maintain a personal working knowledge, sufficiently diverse to be able to deal effectively with business partners regarding their safety and health performance needs.

- Interactive in Safety & Health activities to access health and current processes of organization. Develop and implement performance processes designed to positively influence the Safety and Health within the organization as necessary.

- Coach organization staff members in techniques and methods of developing and evaluating specialized materials, such as S&H performance assessment and provides one-on-one coaching as required.

- Maintain continuous professional development; ensuring skills knowledge is up-to-date with latest S&H techniques within the industry.

- Provide and present information, concepts, and demonstrate relevant skills as appropriate for Safety and Health related subjects or courses offered.

- Promote and enforce the Company's Safety and Health programs.

- May assist lower-level S&H professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

Technical Expertise:

- Have knowledge of intervention techniques and experience in instruction and meeting facilitation.

- Understand principles of organization development and principles of performance improvement methodology's.

- Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, and/or Certified Utility Safety Professional desirable but not required.

- Basic computer skills required.

Planning and Organization:

- Position involves daily as well as occasional overnight travel.

Problem Solving and Initiative:

- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and independence

Business Awareness:

- Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards.

What You’ll Get:

S&H Coordinator (Grade 6) $72,400-$88,000 Basic Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in safety, health, industrial hygiene/health or relevant field; OR Associate degree in relevant field of study with two years’ experience in related electric utility field operations; OR High School diploma/GED with four years in S&H administration, field experience or related electric utility field operations experience.

Experience: In addition to the education requirement: 2 years’ experience in S&H or electric utility operations experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License

S&H Coordinator Sr. (Grade 7) $85,100- $105,000 Basic Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in safety, health, industrial hygiene/health, or relevant field; OR Associate degree in relevant field with two years’ experience in related electric utility field operations experience; OR High School diploma/GED with four years in related electric utility field operations experience.

Experience: In addition to education requirement: 4 years experience in S&H or electric utility operations experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License

S&H Coordinator Consultant (Grade 8) $96,110- $120,000 Basic Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in safety, health, industrial hygiene/health or relevant field of study; OR Associate degree in relevant field with two years’ experience in related electric utility field operations experience; OR High School diploma/GED with 4 years' experience in related electric utility field operations experience.

Experience: In addition to education requirement, 6 years of S&H experience, or electric utility operations experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License.

Compensation Range:

$85,081.00-106,352.50 USD
