The Safety Coordinator will oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs across our facility. This role will focus on fostering a culture of safety, preventing accidents, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant standards.
· Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
· Conduct warehouse visual safety walks, focusing on identifying issues and maintaining compliance with both internal and external regulations and policies.
· Perform periodic inspections of various warehouse safety areas, such as emergency exit doors, fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations etc.
· Schedule and organize safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
· Investigate, monitor and track safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
· Prepare and deliver safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
· Conduct one-on-one new hire training related to equipment operations and group safety procedures.
· Manage the scheduling and coordination of safety and compliance training sessions.
· Maintain up-to-date safety documentation and records including safety manuals, certifications, reports and training programs.
· Provide regular updates to the management team regarding workplace safety issues.
· Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals.
· 3 years+ of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
· Associate’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (preferred).
· Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively train and influence teams.
· Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and handle emergencies effectively.
· Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
· Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.
