We’re looking for a motivated, early-career safety professional who wants to grow with us. As our new Field Safety Manager, you’ll work side by side with project foremen, general contractors, and our Safety Director to build a strong safety culture on some of the most complex structural steel and precast erection projects in the Midwest.

Position Summary:
The Field Safety Manager is responsible for supporting and enforcing safety policies and procedures across all active job sites. This role works closely with the Director of Safety, project foremen, and general contractor representatives to maintain a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will be early in their safety career, eager to learn, and ready to grow into a leadership role through mentorship and field experience.
Field Safety Duties:
•Conduct new hire safety orientation
•Assist with development and review of site-specific safety plans
•Perform routine safety audit walks and submit formal reports
•Distribute weekly toolbox talks and maintain compliance logs
•Track field employee safety certifications
•Schedule and assist with safety training sessions
•Respond to safety-related calls from field foremen and GC safety teams
•Participate in pre-install meetings and general contractor safety meetings
•Attend GC-led stand-downs and jobsite safety walks
•Build working relationships with GC safety personnel
•Help create and update fall protection and elevated work plans
•Monitor changes to OSHA standards and ensure field compliance
•Maintain inspection documentation for cranes, lifts, and rigging equipment
•Prepare and restock first aid grab bags as needed
•Conduct operator evaluations in the field
•Monitor and follow up on jobsite injuries
•Oversee the random drug testing process and maintain records
•Record and analyze near misses and equipment incidents
•Manage DOT driver qualification documentation
Administrative and Support Duties:
•Assist the Director of Safety with company-wide safety compliance
•Help develop internal inspection schedules and procedures
•Prepare and schedule safety and emergency response training
•Monitor jobsite compliance and maintain safety documentation
•Draft safety inspection reports and maintain related records
•Perform additional safety-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
•Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Safety, or related field
•Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant safety standards
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
•Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic safety documentation tools
•Willingness to work outdoors in field jobsite conditions
•Ability to travel frequently across Kansas and Missouri
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to walk up to 12,000 steps per day across jobsite terrain
•Able to lift up to 25 lbs
•Comfortable standing, walking, and working outdoors for extended periods
Preferred Attributes:
•Internships or prior field experience in construction safety
