Retail Area Manager Full-time | Based in Wailea, with travel to Pa‘ia and Whalers Village Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 base + performance-based bonus potential
MUST ALREADY LIVE ON MAUI
At Keani Hawai‘i, we believe retail is more than transactions — it’s about creating an experience that feels like connection, confidence, and celebration. We’re seeking a Retail Area Manager who embodies these values and is ready to step into a pivotal leadership role overseeing three locations on Maui.
Reporting directly to our Fractional COO and working closely with our Founder, you’ll manage the Wailea store as your home base and provide operational and sales leadership across our Pa‘ia and Whalers Village locations. This is not a behind-the-scenes role — it’s a highly engaged, hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in the day-to-day rhythm of retail, and knows how to build systems, develop people, and lead with purpose.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:Store & Sales Leadership
•Directly manage the Wailea location and oversee day-to-day operations across all three stores
•Set the tone for service and selling by being a visible, inspirational leader on the floor
•Coach and develop store leads and stylists to meet and exceed sales goals
•Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets are understood, tracked, and achieved
Team Development & Scheduling
•Own recruitment, onboarding, and development of top-tier retail talent
•Create and manage schedules that align with store traffic and payroll budgets
•Identify and mentor future leaders to support succession planning and long-term growth
•Conduct regular performance check-ins, celebrations, and accountability conversations
Merchandising & Inventory
•Ensure all stores meet visual merchandising standards and reflect current campaigns
•Oversee accurate inventory management, transfers, restocks, and shrink reduction
•Collaborate with the Founder on product education and storytelling that supports new arrivals and core styles
Operational Excellence
•Drive consistency in systems and service across all three stores
•Implement and maintain operational procedures, checklists, and reporting rhythms
•Deliver weekly reports to the COO, including sales performance, staffing updates, opportunities, and proposed actions
Customer Experience & Reputation
•Ensure each store delivers the warm, sincere, and elevated experience our brand is known for
•Proactively encourage team efforts to grow Google reviews and online reputation
•Step in to resolve escalated customer issues with grace and professionalism
Who You Are:
•A confident, heart-centered leader who balances high standards with team empowerment
•A skilled multi-tasker and problem-solver who keeps things moving, even under pressure
•Organized and detail-oriented, with a natural drive to create structure and raise the bar
•Passionate about fashion and people — equally excited about style, spreadsheets, and service
•Tech-comfortable, data-aware, and willing to learn our tools (e.g. Shopify, Google Drive, POS, etc.)
Requirements:
•3+ years of experience in retail management (multi-store or high-volume preferred)
•Demonstrated track record of sales growth, team development, and operational leadership
•Reliable transportation and ability to travel between store locations weekly
•Flexibility to work some weekends, holidays, and evenings — especially during peak seasons
•Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and leadership presence
Compensation & Benefits:
•$75,000–$85,000 annual salary (commensurate with experience)
•Performance-based bonus potential
•Generous employee discount
•Growth potential as our brand and leadership team expand
To Apply:
Please send your resume and a cover letter that highlights:
•Why you’re excited about this opportunity
•A specific example of how you’ve improved sales, culture, or operations in a past retail role
•Your leadership philosophy and what kind of culture you strive to create
Applications without a tailored cover letter will not be considered. We’re looking for someone who not only wants a job, but wants to help shape the future of our brand.
