The R&M Technician is responsible for performing hands-on tasks within Weatherford’s facilities, using equipment, machinery, and systems to support the inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools. This entry-level role focuses on learning and applying basic techniques, procedures, and work instructions to complete assigned tasks under close supervision. Responsibilities include receiving tools, dismantling, and performing routine repairs and refurbishments, while strictly following technical manuals and established procedures. As an entry-level position, this role is developmental, with a focus on gaining practical experience and foundational skills in the Repair & Maintenance process.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Daily Operations and Safety Participation
•Participate in all daily operations and safety meetings, including toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
•Report any safety or operational issues promptly using the appropriate tools, under supervision.
Maintaining Work Areas
•Help maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition, with guidance from more experienced technicians.
Basic Repairs
•Assist in simple repairs of machines, equipment, or structures using basic hand tools (e.g., hammers, wrenches) under close supervision.
Inspection of Parts
•Help inspect used parts to identify obvious wear or damage, using basic measuring instruments (e.g., rulers, calipers) under supervision.
Maintenance Processes
•Follow maintenance procedures to assist in basic tasks such as unloading, cleaning, and visual inspection of tools.
•Complete necessary documentation as required, corresponding to the level of training and competence.
Documentation and Reporting
•Learn to initiate and update forms, checklists, and work orders during maintenance tasks.
•Accurately clock in and out using the WO (Work Order) Time tracking system, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Handling and Moving Equipment
•Use tools and basic lifting equipment to assist in the movement of equipment to and from storage areas or vehicles, under supervision and within the limits of training.
•Learn to operate forklifts or other lifting equipment (certification required for higher competency levels).
Support Lean Initiatives
•Participate in LEAN initiatives by supporting continuous efficiency improvements in the facility.
•Follow supervisor guidance to improve operations and reduce waste where applicable.
Other Duties
•Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors, staying within the physical constraints of the job and following all safety guidelines.
COMMUNICATION
•Where required, will report all equipment failures and troubleshooting requirements to the R&M Management
