Reliability Technician
The reliability technician will be one of the key members of the preventive and predictive mechanical maintenance program. In that role, the candidate will play a vital role in establishing and supporting the predictive and preventive maintenance program within the processing plant. Task will involve vibration analysis, infrared, lubrification route and oil sampling
Key Responsibilities
Work within the maintenance daily activities and support the mill engineering teams
Area 1
- Support the millwright team during critical alignment and installation.
- Share and support reliability improvements and modification recommendations to the technical and engineering staff.
- Document lubrification samples, make determinations of severity and write corrective work orders and trend to track the progress per equipment.
- Perform thermographic inspection in specific area for predictive and corrective works.
- Perform route-based vibration analysis, complete the collection of data and provide written analysis reports.
- Update and built air leak detection routes.
- Maintain up-to-date predictive maintenance tool inventory, calibration, charging and miscellaneous consumables.
- Work independently and with team members to identify and perform corrective actions on all fixed equipment.
- Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
- Use the ERP and asset management system in order to write the work requests.
- Use the relevant equipment monitoring dashboard in order to detect and observe trend on potential problems.
Area 2
Health and Safety and Risk Management
- Participate in the development of maintenance procedures in collaboration with the Health & Safety Team.
- Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations.
Area 3
Technically support the operation, engineering and maintenance teams.
- Support the engineering during failure analysis and RCA workshops and reports.
- Review and optimize the preventive and prediction maintenance routes.
- Work closely with the specialized service contractors including the OEMs on their job execution and the redactions of work instruction.
- Provide technical support in decision-making on design and maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support in analyzing day-to-day problems, troubleshooting of issues a to better understand and improve reliability issues that affect the processing plant.
- Participate in the redaction of work instructions and standard procedures.
- Support the mill maintenance supervision on job quality control.
- Supporting the team in the development and improvement of the maintenance predictive and preventive strategy.
- Handling and managing the condition monitoring tools and consumables, working in the other team members on ordering the required tools and their related consumables.
Area 4
Work collaboratively with others to deliver innovative continuous improvement opportunities.
- Seek and implement best-in-class practices.
- Propose new methods to meet challenges of maintenance practices.
- Propose and improve the design to address process constraints while remaining cost efficient
- Provide new approaches, methods or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
- Continuously seek to improve technical knowledge and skills.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications Or Equivalents- 2+ year technical degree in mechanical engineering or Certified Industrial mechanics (Red seal) with experience in reliability and condition monitoring.
- Level 1 or higher vibration analyst certification is considered an asset.
- A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial or technical environment.
- Previous experience in open pit mining or mineral processing (specifically gold processing) is considered an asset.
- Experience in vibration, ultrasound, thermography technologies.
- Experience in machine alignment and balancing.
- Experience in machine lubrification.
- Experience in start-up and commissioning is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in computer applications and maintenance software’s.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office series.
- Ability to use Pi Vision, Power BI, Oracle and EAM is considered an asset.
- A valid Ontario driver’s license is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings,
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
