What role you will play in our team

•

Regulatory Analyst role is based in Spring, Texas and will perform New Mexico OCD, BLM, SLO subject matter expertise and support to the Upstream Unconventional Permian Business Units (BU)

•

The position will require working closely and interfacing with peers in the UNCON Environmental & Regulatory team, UNCON Scheduling Group, Area Managers, Regulatory staff in New Mexico, New Mexico Development Teams, New Mexico Land, Wells, Production Accounting, and Law.

•

Midland, TX based assignments for the Regulatory Analyst role will be considered pending candidate qualifications and mobility.

What you will do

•

Timely File and Execute Drilling and Completion Regulatory and Environmental permitting actions for new construction activities.

•

Actively participates in Area Team discussions for Planning and Development of wells.

•

Assess deadlines and timelines for all groups to get you the necessary regulatory information needed to timely file permits based on the drilling schedule.

•

Act as liaison between the BU and state agencies as required during Drilling and Completion activities.

•

Conduct internal regulatory compliance assurance reviews, focused on well construction and compliance with Rules and Regulations

•

Track, support and improve workflows to streamline permitting and completion activities.

•

Continue to learn and grow in ability to resolve complex regulatory matters. Applies knowledge and understanding of past issues to solve future problems.

•

Prepare guidance and training on NMOCD, BLM, SLO Regulatory Rules & compliance requirements for BU.

About You

Skills and Qualifications

•

Bachelor of Science or Business and/or related applicable experience

•

Substantial working knowledge of NMOCD, BLM, SLO is required.

•

5+ years Upstream oil & gas regulatory

•

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•

Self-starter and can work as an individual contributor as well as in a team.

•

High level of attention to detail and follow-through

•

Able to build working relationships with Wells personnel to accomplish environmental & regulatory goals and sustain compliance.

•

Able to project manage multiple work activities at a time, using prioritization and organization skills.

•

Able to work well with and interface with contacts across multiple levels of the organization, including presentations appropriate for management levels.

•

Able to travel intermittently to business units located in the United States (5-10%)

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

•

In depth knowledge of oil and gas drilling and completion activities

•

City permitting, Domestic Wastewater (minor permits), Floodplain, Waters of the US, Threated & Endangered Species and Water and PIT Management is a plus

•

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software, Wellview, Power Bi

•

Well-versed with upstream oil & gas regulation requirements and reporting

•

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be equally comfortable speaking and presenting in a group setting
