Territory Sales Representative / Project Estimation and Management
Summary: This position combines territory sales responsibilities with project estimation and management duties. The ideal candidate will be based out of the Midwest Petroleum Equipment (MPE) Kansas City office and will drive sales within a defined territory, develop and maintain client relationships, and provide detailed and accurate project estimates. They will also manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
· Generate new business in defined markets through conventional sales strategies to sell integrated fuel systems to convenience store retailers, government agencies (Cities, IDOT, etc), and fuel marketers.
· Identify and pursue sales opportunities, and promote/sell MPE’s petroleum equipment, services and project management expertise to meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the company’s overall growth.
· Represent MPE at trade shows, conventions, and other marketing events to engage current and prospective clients.
· Develop a high level of expertise regarding product lines, payment options, and industry regulations.
· Conduct on-site visits to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
· Implement and track a contact management process using a CRM database.
· Prepare and analyze estimates and blueprints for project planning, scheduling, material preparation, and purchasing.
· Develop detailed bids, quotes, estimates, and budgets for all stages of competitively bid projects.
· Prepare bid packages, receive bids from subcontractors and vendors, and conduct thorough analysis of process.
· Research and develop bid opportunities through on-line project procurement services.
· Manage and initiate takeoff strategies and procedures for construction/installation projects.
· Lead overall construction direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects.
· Coordinate the planning, preparation, and scheduling of various construction and installation projects.
· Monitor productivity to maintain maximum labor, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
· Create CAD drawings for new projects from written and verbal specifications.
· Proven experience in sales, preferably in the petroleum equipment or related industry.
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related experience preferred.
· Experience working with project management, design, and estimating software preferred.
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, primarily Outlook and Excel required.
· Ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.
· Ability to work out of town and overnights
