David Weekley Homes is seeking a Regional Cost Accountant to join our team. This person will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the regional job cost data both by division and for the region. This position reports directly to the Regional Director of Finance and supports Regional and Divisional Leadership. This position is located at our Phoenix Division office in Tempe, AZ. The main crossroads are the I-10 and Elliot Road.
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting
•Manage, maintain and distribute financial reports, as directed by the Regional Director of Finance
•Provide timely reports for the regional and divisional teams
•Seek opportunities to leverage David Weekley’s current systems for the creation of supportive financial reports
Budgeting/Analysis
•Working closely with the Regional Director of Finance and Project Teams, create and manage Community soft cost budgets and review/maintain on a routine basis to ensure accuracy
•Assist Project Teams on the creation and maintenance of pricing pro-forma for all plans and elevations
•Work closely with the corporate Accounting and Finance Team to implement a standardized Regional accrual process
•Maintain the Nightly Adjustment Chart for all Divisions within the Region and coordinate with Project Teams on delegation of information management
•Analyze hard costs across the region and highlight opportunities with the Regional Director of Purchasing
•Work with Project Teams to maintain cadence of ‘Cost to Complete’ updates
Financial Oversight Responsibilities
•Confirm average lot cost and maintain Developer Escalation adjustments and determine a Regional Standard for “Costs Not in Takeoff” per community
•Determine soft costs and community budget values
•Responsible for month-end accruals and financial forecasting
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
•Bachelors degree in in Accounting, Finance or comparable discipline
•3+ years of accounting experience
•JD Edwards experience, preferred
•CPA or comparable certification, a plus
•Proficient in Excel and all other MS Office products
