About the Job:
Responsible for safely and efficiently operating all aspects of the Rochester refinery including the filter presses, mercury retorts and precious metal furnace. Working as a refinery operator requires special care taken when considering the industrial hygiene and environmental impact of all aspects of the refining process.
Responsibilities:
•Responsible for dropping filter presses to collect precious metal precipitate and maintain Merrill Crowe Plant flow.
•Safely loading and unloading precipitate into the mercury retorts.
•Supporting the melting and pouring of dore’.
•Assisting in the loading and shipping of precious metal dore’ bars.
•Aiding in metal sales with careful tracking and reporting of the flow of material through the refinery.
•Collaborating with Merrill Crowe operators to maximize overall plant efficiency.
•Learning and adhering to Industrial Hygiene controls.
•Ensuring all environmental systems in the refinery are operating correctly.
•Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•3-5 years of experience working in an industrial setting ideally with refinery/process plant experience preferred.
•Exemplary safety and environmental record.
•Effective oral and written communication to ensure accurate task handoffs and recordkeeping.
•Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting deadlines.
•Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
•Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
•Ability to prioritize and plan work activity
•Skill in identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner, and gathers and analyzes information.
•Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
•Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and use teamwork to solve problems.
Additional Information:
•Hourly Rate Range: $34.95 – $41.10 (DOE)
•Schedule: 5 Days On, 4 Days Off / 4 Days On, 5 Days Off (12-hour shifts)
•Quarterly bonus up to $4,100 (up to $16,400 annually)
•Full benefits on day 1 (medical, vision, dental, employee assistance program, Teladoc service)
•6% dollar-for-dollar employer match to 401k or Roth, immediate vesting
•Bus service from Lovelock, Fallon, and Winnemucca
•Travel pay for those outside of bus service
