Corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities are in Mesquite TX. We develop and manufacture products for Oil & Gas and an array of Aquatic products used by zoos, public and private aquariums. We are seeking an R&D Specialtist to join the Fritz Aquatics Division.

Position Objective:

This position is responsible for supporting the Fritz Specialty R&D team in the development of new aquatic pet products, facilitating improvements to current formulations, and performing experimental testing. This position will report directly to the Manager of Technology and assist in the execution of novel experimental procedures. In addition, the candidate will support quality control testing as needed and contribute to quality improvement operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Conduct lab experiments to test and evaluate new formulations, including stability testing and performance evaluations with minimal guidance.

·        Troubleshoot and improve established testing procedures as needed.

·        Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

·        Analyze and interpret raw data and statistics from testing.

·        Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving with minimal guidance.

·        Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

·        Perform other R&D duties as assigned.

·        Provide support for QA/QC as needed.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science.

·        Minimum 1 year of chemical or biological laboratory testing experience.

·        Basic understanding of statistical analysis and experiment design.

·        Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

·        Ability to comprehend and write technical/scientific documentation.

·        Understanding of the aquatic industry and aquaria is required.

·        Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products.

·        High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
