RAP Plant Operator and Grounds Maintenance

Responsibilities:

- Operator of reclaim asphalt pavement (RAP) recycling plant and grounds maintenance

- Ensure smooth, efficient, environmentally compliant and safe day-to-day operation of RAP plant

- Adjust equipment such as screens and conveyors to control or vary size of product and/or to maintain uniform flow of materials

- Daily plant inspection and maintenance

- Proactively communicate with supervisor regarding plant operation

- Observe environmental factors to ensure environmental compliance

- Plan, prioritize, schedule, and coordinate activities of plant operation, production, maintenance and personnel

- Assist in training of new staff when required

- Exercise proper care and maintenance of employer's equipment

- Frequently work more than 50 hours per week during construction season, including some Saturdays

- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Requirements:

Seeking candidates with one of two ideal backgrounds:

1) Prior relevant work experience with respect to an asphalt or RAP plant or

2) Trade school or in-field developed skills in mechanics, welding/fabrication or electrical (Employer will provide requisite RAP plant training for those meeting the second ideal background).

3) Ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a RAP plant operation and being hands on to assure smooth RAP plant operations.

4) Must be a self-starter comfortable with minimal direct oversight

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
