The River Fox Train is a unique excursion and event railroad located in the heart of West Sacramento. We offer scenic rides, themed events, and outdoor adventures including our popular railbike experiences. As a Class III common carrier, we blend history, hospitality, and hands-on fun for guests of all ages.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Railbike Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our railbike program. This role ensures a safe, smooth, and memorable experience for our guests while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Supervise all aspects of railbike operations, including maintenance and repair.
•Schedule and manage staff to meet operational needs.
•Collaborate with other River Fox Train departments.
•Interact with guests to ensure a high-quality experience.
•Operate the retail outlet at the railbike barn and/or depot.
•Ensure safety protocols are followed for both staff and guests.
•Hire, train, and manage railbike team members.
•Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
•Assist in developing new products and guest experiences.
•Sell merchandise and tickets, confirm reservations, and answer guest inquiries.
•Promote additional services and local attractions to enhance guest visits.
•Support the River Fox Train’s mission and values.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
•Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
•Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
•Proficient in English (spoken and written).
•Able to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
•Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
•Must meet vision and hearing requirements per 49 CFR part 240.121 and 242.117.
•Comfortable working in all weather conditions and safety-sensitive environments.
Preferred Skills
•Experience with bike repair and maintenance.
•Familiarity with web-based reservation systems.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
•Basic mechanical knowledge.
•Understanding of FRA rules (training provided if needed).
Additional Information
•Shifts may last up to 12 hours; work weeks can be up to 6 days.
