Purpose
To ensure quality meets or exceeds customer specifications and company standards. Assist in managing the plant quality management system including oversight of certification, calibration, documentation, and auditing.
Principal Accountabilities
•Maintain and control quality records in accordance with the Quality Assurance Manual.
•Coordinate and manage the calibration system for inspection and test equipment.
•Oversee supplier certifications for purchased materials, including the analysis and approval of incoming sand products.
•Responsible for the disposition of non-conforming products, including evaluation for rework, deviation approvals, or scrap.
•Manage and schedule the internal auditing process; perform internal audits of the quality system.
•Provide technical support to operations, engineering, and purchasing on quality-related issues.
•Maintain compliance with ISO standards, including adherence to the Quality Policy Statement and Quality Control Procedures Manual.
•Collaborate with production and engineering to resolve quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
•Analyze test results and use statistical methods to support continuous improvement.
•Support customer complaint investigations and root cause analysis.
•Assist in the training of personnel on quality procedures and inspection methods.
•Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
•Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or high school diploma with equivalent experience in quality assurance, chemistry, material science, or metallurgy.
•Minimum of 2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
•Strong written and oral communication skills.
•Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
•Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with quality software systems (e.g., Minitab, SAP, or similar) is a plus.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
•Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
•Knowledge of measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, hardness testers) and their proper use.
•Comfortable working in lab and production environments as needed.
