The Quality Technician tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process as well as compiles and evaluates data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of manufactured products. They will use gauges and other devices to verify conformity to standards of product being tested and may suggest or recommend changes regarding special requirements.

Must be capable of using a wide variety of testing and inspection equipment to effectively plan out and execute job steps in an orderly and logical fashion to achieve the desired outcome. The employee should have significant experience in using inspection equipment such as micrometers, Instrons, Multimeters, etc. Experience with ISO standards is highly desirable. Extra consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate competency using MRP/ERP systems and who are familiar with QA inspection equipment.
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. The candidate must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and should be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
The employee must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. The application of basic concepts of algebra and geometry will be common.
Must possess computer skills to document activity in the ERP system’s text-based fields, mine for information in the ERP system, use the internet to research solutions to process problems, complete online forms and PDFs, and make basic functional use of the Microsoft Office® suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook at a minimum). The most successful candidate will already possess skills to effectively navigate an enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment such as XA® or SAP ®.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
