WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH:
The Quality Technician performs inspections for all areas and all departments of Ironwood Plastics and assists in the calibration and maintenance of gages and measurement equipment. The Quality Technician provides support to all areas of Project Management, including pre-production and production documentation and activities.
WHAT YOU’ll DO:
•Lead by example and perform in a manner that ensures high morale and high performance. Inspire other employees to support company vision, mission, strategies (main things), goals and guiding principles.
•Communicates effectively to all departments.
•Ensure 5S goals for all areas are maintained.
•Adheres to all company policies and procedures. All Quality Systems procedures and work instructions are consistently followed.
•Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed to support customer requirements.
•Works with the Quality Manager to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
•Keeps Quality Manager informed of any problems that may impact schedule completion or overall cost of inspection schedule.
•Performs thorough and accurate inspections which may include but are not limited to first articles, capability studies, gage R & R, final inspections, gage studies, etc.
•Reviews data from outsource inspection house for accuracy and completeness.
•Perform calibration of gages and PM of gages, fixtures and measurement equipment.
•Program and troubleshoot measurement equipment.
•Maintain documentation systems related to inspections and calibrations.
•Update job book documents, PFMEA’s, Flowcharts, and production instructions.
•Provide direct support for other team members as required.
•Create and maintain SPC files. Resolve SPC Express software issues.
•Lead or participate in internal 8D’s and continuous improvements.
•Any other duties that may be necessary to accomplish the goals of this position or goals of the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
•Able to use Microsoft products (MSWord, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat. Able to effectively use company ERP system (IQMS) in areas that pertain to your responsibilities.
•Minimum two years’ experience in Quality and blueprint reading.
