Quality Inspector/Production (11:00 AM - 7:30 PM)

Title: Quality Control Inspector/Manufacturing

Function: Perform inspection and production support duties as needed for all products manufactured by Great Lakes Engineering.

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Operations/Production Supervisor

Responsible for: None

Coordinates with: Engineering, Operations, Sales, Customer Service & Finance

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Perform duties as a quality inspector up to and including using shop scopes, CMM’s, ohm meters, micrometers, calipers, gauge pins and other inspection equipment.

2) Ensure that Great Lakes Engineering meets all quality specifications for both internal and external ISO 9001/2015 industry standards.

3) Participate in activities that ensure Great Lakes Engineering meets all standards for workplace safety and general housekeeping.

4) Coordinate with operations and engineering to correct any deficiencies in quality during the production of chemically milled, laser-cut and plated products.

5) Participate in the development and implementation of electronic data control, software, and systems to enhance and improve quality data reporting internally and externally.

6) Ensure that all inspection equipment is properly maintained within quality standard guidelines.

7) Perform metal cleaning, polishing, production inspection, and packaging as required by Great Lakes Engineering (GLE), assembly of parts

8) Collect, organize & report quality control data and department information for ISO 9001/2015, financial and managerial reporting.

9) Complete area and equipment inspections as required.

10) Other duties as requested.

Education and Experience

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality inspection or quality control environment with hands-on experience using inspection equipmentor

· 2 years of experience working in a general manufacturing environment with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Other General Requirements

§ Must be able to communicate in verbal or written form.

§ Must be able to hear and respond to loudspeaker pages for facility evacuation in case of fire or other emergency.

§ Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.

§ Must be able to wear proper protective equipment required in specific work area.

§ Must be able to see and interpret readings utilizing magnification equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
