The Quality Inspector assists in the overall management of QC functions within the organization. This role performs product inspection to verify conformance to drawing and process specifications, including but not limited to receiving, first articles, in-process, and final inspections.
- Inspect product to verify compliance with the requirements of the work order, applicable specifications, and the KF Valves quality management system in accordance with all licensing and customer requirements (i.e., API, ISO, PED, CSA, etc.)
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections as assigned, including first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Reviewing calibration certifications for accuracy and conformance to stated requirements.
- Ensure all documentation scanning/indexing tasks are maintained and kept up to date (i.e. process control records, work order documents, inspection records, etc.)
- Interface with customer third-party source inspectors, when required.
- Review outsourced process documentation and reports for conformance to stated requirements (i.e. KFV QMS, API, ISO, customer, end user, etc)
- Assist with customer returns as assigned. Inspect product prior to restock.
- Verify material test reports with engineering specifications for acceptance as required.
- Generate NCRs (nonconforming product reports) and handle all follow-up activities as required to ensure timely review and closure.
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to administrative tasks, trouble-shooting customer requests, and field service tasks.
- Minimum high school diploma
- Minimum of four (4) years of related experience in manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, inspection, OR equivalent combination of education and experience within different disciplines, functions, and/or business.
- Any additional training or certification will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of ball valves, calibration, hand gauges, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), strongly preferred.
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
- The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
- Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
