Summary
As a Quality Engineer at Central Tube and Bar, you will play a key role in ensuring that our precision tube and bar products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will support production teams, lead root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
•Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
•Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and external quality issues.
•Lead PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions and maintain related documentation.
•Perform internal audits and support external audits (e.g., customer, ISO, military standards).
•Utilize measurement tools such as Faro CMM and other precision instruments to verify product conformance.
•Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturability and reduce scrap/rework.
•Analyze quality data and generate reports to identify trends and recommend improvements.
•Train production staff on quality standards and inspection techniques.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, preferably in metal fabrication or machining.
•Working knowledge of ISO 9001, PPAP, and MIL-STD-45662A standards.
•Proficiency with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D, and root cause analysis.
•Experience with CMMs (Faro preferred) and other inspection equipment.
•Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Skills:
•Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
•Experience with laser cutting, CNC bending, or welding processes.
•Familiarity with ERP and quality management systems.
