WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
The Quality Supervisor will champion the highest quality standards within our Foothill Ranch, CA, warehouse and assembly operations. This hands-on leader will plan and direct operational improvements, manage the quality team, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include maintaining product quality through direct inspection and testing, developing team skills and acumen, supporting quality personnel, performing visual, mechanical, and electrical tests on components and cable assemblies, and ensuring familiarity with inspection, audits, metrics, ISO 9001, calibration, and quality records. This critical on-site role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Daily, you'll lead the quality control team across production lines, ensuring thorough inspections of materials and products at all stages. You'll guide your team, collaborate with other departments to improve inspection processes, and guarantee consistent application of quality standards and accurate tracking of product quality. You'll oversee the release of finished goods, handle non-conforming materials and returns, and maintain related documentation. Analyzing quality data to identify improvements and generate reports will be a regular task, as will implementing process enhancements. You'll also contribute your expertise to new product introductions, communicate quality issues, provide technical support, and manage your team through performance reviews, training, and development. Ensuring adequate staffing and fostering talent within your team will also be key daily responsibilities. Perform other duties as needed to support departmental and organizational objectives. WHAT YOU WILL NEED (Required Qualifications)
•Minimum High school diploma, associate degree, or equivalent QA/QC experience (5+ years), BA/BS preferred.
•Prior hands-on leadership experience.
•Experience in a highly regulated industry.
•Proven ability to perform visual, mechanical, and electrical tests, inspecting components, parts, and cable assemblies.
•Familiarity with quality systems functions: inspection/testing, internal audits, metrics development, ISO 9001, calibration, and quality records.
•Excellent planning, analytical, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with varying deadlines.
•Demonstrated sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
•Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
•Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•Experience using standard measuring equipment (calipers, pin gages, micrometers).
•Understanding of fundamental quality concepts: root cause/failure analysis, continuous improvement, process mapping, variation, and auditing.
•Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
•Experience writing and maintaining quality procedures and documentation (including ISO 9001).
•Ability to communicate effectively by phone and in person.
WHAT ELSE WE ARE LOOKING FOR (Preferred Qualifications):
•Electronics industry experience.
•Understanding of electronic device lifecycle (design, development, scale-up, failure analysis).
•Regulatory experience with ISO-9001 and other relevant quality standards.
•Proven success in transforming processes, systems, and teams, driving change initiatives.
•Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and mediate effectively.
•Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and business judgment.
•Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor).
•Proficiency in Chinese or Mandarin is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to stand at least 2 hours at a time.
•Ability to walk the facility throughout the day.
•Ability to lift at least 35 lbs.
•Ability to communicate over the phone.
