Ondrick Material’s and Recycling, LLC owns and operates divisions in the aggregate, paving and hardscape industries. As the Quality Control Manager, the successful candidate will have a strong background in materials testing and laboratory operations, with a focus on achieving compliance with industry standards and specifications. This role involves supervising lab personnel, conducting tests, and collaborating with project teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality asphalt materials.
a) Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, materials science, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
b) Proven experience in quality control within an asphalt or construction laboratory setting.
c) Knowledge of asphalt testing methods, state DOT specifications, and quality assurance practices.
d) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
f) Proficient with asphalt laboratory equipment, troubleshooting, and documenting test results.
g) Strong organizational and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
h) Experience developing DOT approved asphalt mix designs.
i) NETTCP Asphalt Plant Technician Certification required, ability to obtain NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist Certification.
a) Manage daily operations of the asphalt laboratory, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
b) Conduct routine tests and analyses on raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
c) Develop and implement quality control program and testing protocols to enhance laboratory efficiency and accuracy.
d) Maintain accurate records of all laboratory tests, results, and certifications in compliance with regulatory requirements.
e) Collaborate with project managers and field personnel to address quality issues, provide solutions, and ensure optimal material performance.
f) Train and mentor lab technicians and staff on proper testing methods, safety practices, and quality assurance processes.
g) Develop, review, and mix designs meeting state DOT specifications
h) Perform daily quality control testing, jobsite inspections, field testing, customer service, and troubleshooting as needed.
i) Document test results in a timely, accurate, and organized fashion. Communicate test results to plant manager and operations.

Must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Additionally, he/she will regularly be exposed to noise, vibration, oils and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes and stone/minerals.
