Quality Control Specialist

What You Will Do:

You’ll plan and perform inspections across multiple disciplines—mechanical, civil, electrical, or welds—while documenting results and tracking nonconformances. You’ll oversee manufacturing and construction activities to ensure compliance with NRC and DOE regulations, and re-inspect work to verify effectiveness of corrective actions. You’ll support supplier oversight, commercial-grade dedication, audits, readiness reviews, and interface directly with regulators. Basically, if it has a spec, you’ll help make sure we meet it—safely, accurately, and on time.

We’d Love to Hear from People With:

- Associate degree in a related field OR equivalent Quality experience - 2+ years of inspection/assessment experience in an industrial or nuclear setting

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.

- Experience in quality control for design, construction, or manufacturing

- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings:

- Active DOE “Q” or “L” clearance

- Experience at an NRC-regulated site

- Certification in one or more of the following:

- BS in Science or Technical discipline

- ASQ Certification or Lead NQA-1 Auditor Certification

- Familiarity with NRC/DOE regulations including NQA-1 and DOE O 414.1D

- Receiving, Dimensional, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Inspection

- Visual Weld Inspection (AWS CWI preferred)

- Helium Leak Testing

- Nondestructive Examination: Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Radiographic, or Ultrasonic

- Military experience

Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
