Ability Engineering Technology, Inc (AET) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our team. The QC Inspector will be responsible for inspecting welded, machined, and tested components to ensure they meet internal specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. This role is critical to maintaining the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.
1. Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies (weldments, machined components, and test results) for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
2. Perform dimensional inspections of machined and welded parts using mechanical drawings, GD&T standards, and applicable work instructions.
3. Conduct weld inspections per applicable codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section VIII), including visual weld inspection and coordination of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) when required.
4. Review test data and verify conformance to performance and pressure testing standards.
5. Document inspection results, non-conformances, and rework in quality records and databases.
6. Interpret and verify engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
7. Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for nonconforming products.
8. Assist in maintaining calibration records and ensuring all inspection tools and equipment are calibrated and properly maintained.
9. Work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality-related issues.
10. Participate in internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
2. 3+ years of experience in quality inspection within a metal fabrication environment.
3. Strong knowledge of welding and machining processes.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
5. Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
6. Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001 or similar).
7. Knowledge of manufacturing practices such as welding, machining, and fabrication are mandatory.
8. Good communications skills (verbal and written), and strong knowledge of MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel etc.).
1. Certification(s) such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), ASNT Level I/II in NDT, or equivalent.
2. Experience with ERP systems and digital inspection reporting.
3. Knowledge of ASME, AWS, or API codes.
