The Quality Manager will be responsible for providing directions for the execution of Quality Management System. This position will be responsible for US operations, including plant quality performance and EHS (environmental, health and safety) initiatives and compliance.
· Formulate, recommend and then facilitate EHS plans and initiative, Quality, and Manufacturing methodologies, policies and programs which guide the corporation to create its competitive position and the profitability of the business unit
· Serve as the primary company safety representative and oversee the company’s safety and environmental functions
· Support, participate, and encourage the development and implementation of cross-functional teams to achieve corporate objectives
· Create and maintain ownership with the company scorecard, collecting all necessary information for relevant department leaders and presenting to the President
· Create and maintain ownership for all necessary operational KPI’s to include but not limited to the collection of relevant Purchasing/Inventory details
· Develop the 3-year plan to capture risks, progress and attainments to include but not be limited to:
o Risk Assessment – Quality, Health and Safety, Capacity
o Internal and external qualification – Resource and supply
o Develop and execute operational footprint and CAPEX and OPEX plan
o Build and execute a model for current and future state operations
o Implement and maintain all necessary and customized certifications to include ISO9000 etc.
o Implement Six Sigma activities to meet or exceed customer expectations, based on specific knowledge of the industry and requirements
o Formulates and installs standard manufacturing and quality practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs and production figures and directs implementation of lean manufacturing projects in manufacturing facilities to obtain continuous improvement in both quality and cost of manufacturing product
· Directs preparation of cost control reports, cost estimates and manpower and facilities requirements forecasts; directs the preparation of specifications for quality required for purchase of plant equipment, supplies and materials to meet production schedules and quality standards.
· Develop current machine and personnel capacity and develop targets on improvements through project initiatives
· Act as the Senior Member of Management Team, influencing both the strategic and tactical aspects to meet the company 3-year plan
· Define and recommend EHS objectives supporting budget requests and corporate goals; develops and implements these policies and capital plans
· Formulates and installs standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs and production figures and directs implementation of lean manufacturing projects in the manufacturing facility to obtain continuous improvement in both quality and cost of manufacturing products
· Directs EHS manager functions, Global Product Stewardship and reviews all environmental compliance permitting and security compliance reporting.
