The qualified candidate will be a highly organized and motivated team player with effective communication skills and is responsible for overseeing all company purchases and procuring goods and services necessary for a growing manufacturing business. He/She will have the ability to identify suppliers, negotiate effectively to assure quality and cost-effective purchases, and develop new suppliers to achieve the highest levels of performance in cost, quality, and delivery.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field with 5 years minimum experience in metal stamping, machining, and tool and die manufacturing environment.
- Identify and qualify suppliers per procedure. Maintain a list of Approved Suppliers.
- Negotiate or renegotiate and administer contracts, with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives as needed to purchase goods and services
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
- Prepare purchase orders, solicit quotes, and review requisitions for goods and services
- Create, maintain and manage metrics to ensure supplier performance
- Solicit feedback from suppliers with Supplier Quality Surveys per procedure
- Procure and develop new suppliers to achieve the highest standards in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies and initiatives to improve overall supplier performance.
- Support Sales Team with inputs from Purchasing for customer quotations
- Proficiency with ERP or MRP platforms
