Description:
General Purpose
This position is responsible for purchase orders, direct ship orders and warehouse transfers. This entails communication with suppliers, entering information into Chempax system, coordinating shipping and logistics and ensuring accuracy and execution of purchase orders, direct ship orders and warehouse transfers from initiation until receipt. This position will work closely with suppliers and partners to ensure accuracy and execution of orders as well as monitor and communicate lead times, supply issues and pricing updates.
Essential Functions
•Responsible for various purchasing decisions
•Initiate and enter purchase orders, direct ship orders and warehouse transfers in the Chempax system.
•Place orders with suppliers after Purchase Order is created in the Chempax database.
•Develop relationships and communication channels with suppliers.
•Receives raw material cost updates from suppliers via mail, fax, e-mail or in-person and disperses this information in a timely manner to employees who require material cost data for their job functions.
•Communicate in-person and by phone with suppliers, customers, operations employees, sales team and customer service team.
•Communicate pricing updates, lead times and any supply changes internally.
•Manager supplier price changes and monitor cost to sell price for accuracy and profitability.
•Monitor inventories at partner warehouses.
•Coordinate logistics and shipping with carriers and freight forwarders.
•Audit and monitor suppliers and partners.
•Research for product alternatives for APPC and customers
•Additional tasks as assigned

Requirements:
Education and Experience
•Associates Degree in Business or equivalent; Bachelor degree preferred
•2 years Purchasing experience
•Demonstrates dependability
•Able to coordinate multiple tasks
•Verbal and Written communication skills
•Data input, typing, computer operation
Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Work with various computer systems (internal and customer/supplier systems)
•Familiarity with business management software (SAP, Chempax, etc.)
•Information management – Run and create reports, analyze information and manage various types of information in various formats
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
•Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
•Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, talk or hear.
•Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
•While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet; moderate.
•The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; color vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
