SUMMARY: A Project Specialist is assigned to a Project Manager, and is involved in all aspects of the project execution. The main duties and responsibilities of a project specialist include supporting the cost, quality, and delivery of the project. Types of projects include: construction, manufacturing, equipment sales, O&M, and aftermarket.
- Creation and maintenance of project documents/templates
- Involved in managing the cost, quality, and delivery of a project.
- Involved in the creation, modification, implementation, and training on Project Execution’s ISO procedures
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the detailed schedules for projects. These schedules are continually updated and optimized based on data from the field.
- Under the direction of the project manager, works with customers throughout the cycle of a project.
- Involved in resource scheduling and forecasting with Project Execution. This includes site managers, TAs, and vendor support required.
- Involved in forward thinking related to providing better support for project management and better support the links between project management and the rest of the business
- Participates in the lessons learned process, during closeout of a project
- Involved in project execution metrics in support of the weekly project meeting
- Involved in updating the project financials, scheduling monthly projects meetings
- Supports the ITO phase with project schedules
- Involved in the change order process. This includes the following actions: drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and documenting.
- Developing proposals related to the project
- Working with internal team to coordinate project deliverables
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university (preferably in engineering or business)
- Experience with gas turbine technology and applications is preferred
- Knowledge of program management and engineering processes.
- Experience with ERP software
