Position: Solar Project Manager
Location: Jackson, Michigan
Type: Full-Time | Hybrid Field & Office Work
Lead the Land. Power the Future.
At Halo Land Management, we’re helping to shape the renewable energy landscape by connecting land, people, and power. We're looking for a dynamic Solar Project Manager to drive the development of utility-scale solar projects—leading everything from easement negotiations to regulatory compliance.
If you're experienced in solar or land development, thrive in cross-functional teams, and want to contribute to the clean energy transition—this role is built for impact.
What You'll Do
As a Solar Project Manager, you’ll take the lead on bringing complex solar projects to life—balancing timelines, legal frameworks, land use logistics, and stakeholder relationships.
Project Leadership
•Manage the full project lifecycle—from kickoff to closeout—with control over scope, scheduling, and deliverables
•Coordinate with land agents, engineers, environmental consultants, and legal teams to keep everything moving
•Identify project risks early and implement solutions to stay compliant and on track
Land Management & Easement Acquisition
•Lead negotiations and secure easements that align with both project goals and regulatory requirements
•Conduct due diligence on land ownership, zoning, and environmental factors affecting development
Compliance & Documentation
•Ensure all solar projects meet local, state, and federal land use regulations
•Manage permits, agreements, contracts, and project reports with precision
•Liaise with agencies and legal entities to maintain a clean compliance record
Administrative Oversight
•Maintain and track project line lists, key dates, and reporting dashboards
•Support internal teams and leadership with strategic updates and actionable data
•Provide input during due diligence processes for land acquisition and permitting
A Day in the Life
You start your morning reviewing your active project dashboard—checking the status of landowner negotiations, permit filings, and internal deadlines. A quick sync with the engineering team clarifies a layout adjustment for a solar array, and you follow up with the local zoning board to ensure the revised site plan aligns with municipal guidelines.
By mid-morning, you're finalizing easement documentation and prepping for a virtual meeting with a landowner who's considering leasing their property. You walk them through the process, explain the benefits, and address concerns with clarity and confidence.
After lunch, you collaborate with legal and compliance teams to submit environmental permitting documents for a new project. A site walk is scheduled for the following week, so you confirm logistics and coordinate with surveyors and title agents.
The day wraps up with status updates to leadership and your cross-functional team—outlining key wins, outstanding risks, and next steps. You log off knowing your efforts moved multiple solar projects closer to groundbreaking.
