Project Manager (contract)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to oversee project execution, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and within budget. This role involves managing project scope, timelines, and resources while being accountable for all aspects of the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, leading project meetings, coordinating with team members, and effectively communicating project status to stakeholders.

- Oversee project execution and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.

- Manage project scope, timelines, and resources effectively.

- Lead project meetings and coordinate activities among team members.

- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and address any arising issues.

- Communicate project status to stakeholders and ensure alignment with goals.

- Support a team of approximately 10-15 members including developers, business analysts, and testers.

- Collaborate with key players such as the project sponsor, department heads, and senior stakeholders.

Skills

- Experience with commercial off-the-shelf software deployment projects, including integration with legacy systems.

- Strong financial management background including actuals/variance analysis and forecasting.

- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Office 365, Confluence, SPM/ServiceNow.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to run effective meetings and workshops.

- Creative problem-solving abilities and proven leadership skills.

- Positive attitude with strong engagement capabilities.

Qualifications

- 5-7 years of direct project management experience required.

- Additional 5-10 years of PM or PM-adjacent experience (e.g., PMO, BA, Test Lead) preferred.

- PMP or equivalent certification preferred but not required.

- Experience in larger organizations with interdepartmental coordination is desirable.

- Previous utility industry experience is a plus.
