Reporting to the Team Lead – Calgary Design-Build, the Project Manager is responsible for the overall execution of turnkey design-build projects, including underground and overhead electrical distribution (4 kV to 25 kV), communications infrastructure, and street lighting systems.
- Deliver multiple concurrent turnkey projects on time and on budget, from client engagement through design and construction to energization, while maintaining high quality standards.
- Lead estimating, procurement coordination, construction oversight, and project closeout, with clear communication to clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare takeoffs, estimates, and proposals, including engineering inputs, materials procurement, construction scope, and closeout activities.
- Manage materials inventory and coordinate logistics to meet schedule and quality targets.
- Attend off-site meetings, site visits, and field inspections.
- Coordinate with customers, municipal authorities, utilities, and other stakeholders to support seamless execution.
- Proactively consult with clients to develop solutions aligned to their business needs.
- Communicate clearly to mitigate risks, align expectations, and maintain stakeholder satisfaction.
- Support project acquisition, sales, and customer relationship development.
- Manage and report on project schedules, costs, risks, and communications.
- Provide peer mentoring and training to team members.
- Perform other duties as required.- 5+ years of relevant experience at an intermediate or higher level in design-build or electrical utility design, planning, or quoting.
- Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (drafting, construction, survey, civil).
- Strong organization and time management with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; passion for excellence.
- Eng., P.L.(Eng.), or equivalent.
- Project management education: PMP (PMI).
- Estimating experience, including estimating system development.
- Strong commitment to safety and ethical work practices.
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands within schedule and budget constraints.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
