Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall execution of underground/overhead electric utility distribution projects from the design through construction stages, including management of scope, schedule, cost, quality, and other project management domains.
- Maintain key client relationships with Primary’s focus on customer service, proactive communication, risk mitigation, and finding solutions to unique problems.
- Business development, sales, and acquisition of new clients and projects.
- Complete material take-offs, cost estimates, and proposals including engineering, material procurement, and electrical subcontracts.
- Collaborate with the project team (Project Managers, Designers, Drafters, Engineers of record, and field inspectors) to ensure projects are executed successfully.
- Design coordination with external clients, engineering consultants, utility approval teams, municipalities, material and construction suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Peer mentoring and training with other team members.
- Periodic off-site meetings, site visits, and field inspections.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in project management or design of utility distribution projects.
- Engineering / Applied Science degree or diploma from a recognized university or college (electrical or civil preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to develop business relationships conducted in a professional manner.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing responsibilities concurrently.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and drive for improvement.
- Class 5 driver’s license.
- P.Eng., P.L.Eng., and/or PMP designations.
- Experience working in the shallow utility and/or land development industries.
- Familiarity with BC Hydro and/or Fortis Electric design and construction standards and tools.
- Exposure to electrical distribution, telecommunications, buildings electrical, street lighting, traffic signals, natural gas, civil, landscape, architectural, electrical transmission, or substation design.
- Exposure to Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Pull Planner, SPIDAcalc, PLS-CADD, or AGi32 software.
Salary Range: $40.00 - $55.00/hour
