TerraPower is seeking a Project Assurance Associate who plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of the Natrium Demo project and supports the Chief of Staff in various organizational initiatives. This position requires a highly organized and proactive individual with a high level of diplomacy and discretion. The Project Assurance Associate will collaborate with the broad project management team to promote project management excellence. They will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and the Chief of Staff to monitor project progress, identify potential risks and challenges, and ensure adherence to established methodologies and standards. This role also involves assisting the Chief of Staff with strategic planning, operational efficiency improvements, and other organizational tasks as needed.
o Work with the Project Management Department and the PMO to establish and maintain project assurance frameworks, processes, and tools to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
o Independently review project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to identify potential risks, dependencies, and critical paths.
o Identify and escalate potential risks, issues, and deviations from project plans, recommending mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
o Manage and track project challenges, collaborating with the project team on mitigations and strategies to resolve the challenges.
o Provide objective feedback and recommendations to project managers and teams to improve project execution.
o Provide consistent and frequent project communications to enhance clarity on project priorities, issues, and progress.
o Assist in the drafting, editing, and communication of key project documentation.
o Collaborate cross-functionally to guide strategic planning and inform programmatic decision-making for future projects and other initiatives.
o Assist the Chief of Staff in the development and execution of strategic initiatives and organizational goals.
o Conduct research and analysis on various organizational topics as required by the Chief of Staff.
o Help track and monitor the progress of key organizational projects and initiatives led by the Chief of Staff.
o Facilitate communication and coordination between different departments and stakeholders on behalf of the Chief of Staff.
o Support efforts to improve operational efficiency and streamline processes across the organization.
o Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
o Drive critical thinking and insight into challenging, unstructured decisions and work with leaders in the project to bring those insights into action.
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Management, or equivalent technical field.
o 5+ years of experience in project management, project assurance, operations management, or a related role.
o Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., PMBOK), and tools.
o Proven ability to independently review and analyze project plans and performance data.
o Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
o Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
o Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
o Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
o Demonstrate a strong bias for action and anticipates potential needs.
o Knowledge of cross functional work processes and interface knowledge, especially Project Controls, Planning, Risk Management, Supply Chain management, Estimating, Quality management and the ability to manage the relationships/interfaces with management and functional groups.
o The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
o Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE certificate is highly preferred.
o Experience in supporting senior leadership and executive teams.
o Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Power BI.
o Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence).
