Production Welder:

Job summary:

We are looking for a qualified, motivated welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform production welding in a fast paced environment, have a steady hand and attention to detail. Must be able to pass welding test in accordance to AWS D1.1. with 3/32 wire.

Responsibilities:

- Must take and pass welding test in accordance to AWS D1.1

- Ability to weld on flat or vertical surface

- Ability to weld using 3/32” through 5/64” Flex Core or FCAW wire

- Ability to follow welding procedures

- Chip and grind material to prepare for welding or finish

- Air Arc / back gouge

- Ability to read and understand weld symbols on shop drawing and blueprints, tape measure, calipers and other measuring tools

- Recognize, set up and safely operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade

- Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of appropriate personal protective equipment for the craft

- Must be able to work with minimal supervision

- Welding ability based upon passing weld test administered by production manager

Qualifications:

5-6 years’ experience in structural steel welding

CJP certification

Must have experience reading shop fabrication drawings

Attention to detail, must be extremely organized and committed to safety at all times

Ability to perform precise measurements using weld gauges, tape measure, and other tools of the trade

Able to work under frequent supervision

Must be able and willing to be trained in different production areas

Must pass required weld test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
