We’re looking for a Production Supervisor
to lead our CNC machine shop team while driving improvements in programming, processes, and professionalism. This role is perfect for someone who wants to be on the floor, coaching operators, optimizing programs, and making real impact every day.
- Supervise CNC machine operators and hold the team accountable for quality and productivity
- Optimize CNC programs and setups for efficiency and repeatability
- Lead shop floor improvements in tooling, methods, and cleanliness
- Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and leadership to resolve production issues
- Help grow the skill and professionalism of the team
- Evaluate current machining practices and identify areas for improvement in setup efficiency, consistency, and safety.
- Assist in identifying continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput, reduce scrap, and ensure part quality.
- Assist in the development of new standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for machining processes.
- Assist with planning and integration of new equipment and technologies into the shop environment.
- Work with maintenance and engineering to ensure machine reliability and suitability for production needs.
- Provide input on capital equipment purchases based on technical performance and future production needs.
- Support operator training in machining techniques, tooling usage, and program understanding as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Act as a technical liaison between programming, quality, and production functions to align expectations and capabilities.
- Help establish a professional shop culture through methodical problem-solving and a commitment to craftsmanship.- 5+ years CNC machining and programming experience (mill and lathe)
- Experience leading or mentoring a small team in a manufacturing setting
- Strong G-code and CAM programming knowledge (GibbsCAM, Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)
- Problem-solving mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Experience in a job shop or short-run production environment
- Familiarity with 5S, Lean, or other manufacturing best practices
