The CNC Process Engineer develops and optimizes machining processes by optimizing CNC programs for turning, milling, and grinding operations. They evaluate G-code, M-code, and CAM software to ensure precision, efficiency, and manufacturability. This role also involves recommending tooling solutions, interpreting complex engineering drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The engineer also leads continuous improvement efforts and provides training on CNC programming best practices, as well as machining setup and production practices.

- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in programming workflows and machining productivity
- Evaluate and optimize CNC machining processes, including advanced programming for milling, turning, and drilling operations
- Evaluate and optimize CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM software to achieve precision and efficiency
- Design and implement tooling and fixture solutions to support effective CNC program execution
- Interpret engineering drawings and suggest optimal machining techniques, especially on complex geometries
- Conduct trials and simulations to validate and optimize CNC programs before production
- Troubleshoot machining issues, revise CNC programs for improved cycle times and surface finishes
- Collaborate with programming and production teams to ensure program compatibility and manufacturability
- Train machinists and programmers in CNC programming fundamentals and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred
- Strong knowledge of G-code/M-code and multi-axis CNC operations
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and process documentation
- 3 – 5 years of experience in CNC process engineering and programming
- Expertise in Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAD/CAM platforms
- Must be able to stand long periods of time and lift/carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
