Production Supervisor

Description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Production Supervisor for its Des Moines Portable Team. This position will be based out of Winterset, IA but will travel throughout Central Iowa and Eastern Nebraska to help other plants with production. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in managing all safety, operational, financial, environmental and personnel duties for the plant in accordance with company programs, policies, and guidelines as well as government agencies.

A Typical Day For a Production Supervisor May Include

- Training and development of the team, scheduling, performance management and effective leadership of the hourly workforce

- Successfully leading and managing to production, safety, quality, employee development and environmental objectives and metrics

- Performing all activities in accordance with the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values, and in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and Code of Ethical Business Conduct.

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have

- A bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work/military experience

- 2+ years of experience in aggregate operations, preferred

- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a mining environment, preferred

- The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

- Proficiency with a computer and Microsoft Office programs and other similar programs

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
