Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards. Supervisors provide leadership to position the company at the forefront in the industry, advance the company mission and objective to promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization. We are seeking candidates that have proven leadership skills.


Safety Protocol:

- Wears all PPE.

- Follows all safety procedures and policies.

- Understands, observes, and respects safety rules and performs all work in a safe manner. (glasses, shoes, face shield, helmet, gloves, spats, etc.)

- Ensures all employees are wearing their PPE and following all EHS protocols.

- Reports all safety concerns to Plant Manager and EHS Manager.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Trains and manages production employees on the assigned shift.

- Responsible for scheduling manpower according to daily production schedule

- Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.

- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.


Supervisor Accountability:

- Starts up procedures for furnaces, bag house, line feeder, ovens, computers.

- Understand how to perform all tasks using the equipment.

- Experienced in Start Up procedures for furnaces, bag house, line feeder, ovens, computers.

- Responsible for contacting Maintenance and the Plant Manager if there are any equipment issues, breakdowns, power outages, and safety concerns with the equipment and/or line.

- Understand the inline process and flow and how to speed it up and slow it down.

- Responsible for all material and finished product specifications for the finished product.

- Brings forth any concerns to the Plant Manager

- Control the cooling water for the casting line.

- Turn on the cool water when start casting.

- Turn off the cooling water when casting stop.


Required Skills/Abilities:

- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.

- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.


Quality:

· Ingot discoloration (can happen w/beryllium other materials) Supervisor will report to plant manager

· Report to supervisor immediately if there is any discoloration on the ingot

· Responsible for sampling 0 testing the alloy to ensure it is meeting ingot specifications every 30 min, or as required

· Identifies the casting molds that need to be coated and assigns to Laborer

· Ensures all ingots are uniform, level, stacked properly, banded properly

· Inspects that the finished goods meet the specs required by the customer. If it does not meet the requirements, must notify the Plant Manager and then has to go back to furnace.

· Trains new employees on proper procedures an ensures effectiveness.


· Records data & stack weight

· Ensure proper housekeeping by all team members


· Casting line clean

· Keep all areas stairways, aisles, and deck surfaces clear

· Must be willing to work in a foundry manufacturing environment, where working conditions can be hot or cold depending on external temperatures.

· Must be willing to follow all safety protocol and wear all required PPE.

- Most of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant or warehouse center. The environment will include, at times walking onto the plant production floor where there is weather and nonweather related hot or humid conditions, extreme cold, working near moving mechanical parts or equipment.

- The noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office, but can be loud when on the production floor, warehouse or loading areas.

- Frequently required to sit.
