As a Production Operator you will be responsible for completing daily tasks asked of you by your department lead. This includes but is not limited to brake press, roll former, forklift, and crane operation. At Lifetime Metal Sales we stress quality and speed. You must keep your composure and work thru daily customer orders along with your team members. Your main responsibilities include panel wrapping, panel production, special trim production, stock inventory management, trim wrapping, and any other production tasks given to you by supervisors.
· We work as a team, and you must communicate with supervisors the workload of the plant.
· In most daily tasks you are asked to complete simple math equations involving measurements on pieces produced. You must be able to function with fractions and decimals.
· This is a fast-paced higher stress position. At Lifetime Metal Sales we push quality and speed. You must stay calm and move thru all orders put into the system.
· You must be able to navigate through machine malfunctions or get the necessary help for repairing your machine if necessary.
· It is important to stay on task and minimize idle time. Stay busy and ask management for further direction when needed.
· We succeed together working as one it is essential to work and collaborate with your coworkers to best get the job done correctly in a timely manner.
· Safety is our biggest concern. You must be aware of your safety and the safety of all your coworkers in the shop. Be sure safe work habits are always practiced as well as proper PPE worn when necessary. Please report any safety concerns to management.
· Help your team provide quality material to our customers in a timely manner.
· Be comfortable with stopping production if you see unacceptable quality and notify proper management if necessary.
· Help Lifetime Metal Sales to achieve a high level of accuracy in meeting customer’s needs. (Correct amounts, colors, and profiles etc.)
· Keep the shop clean, tables clear and scrap managed.
· Help keep Lifetime Metal Sales an enjoyable place to work. Communicate with the office about your work schedule.
· Ask your manager when you are needing assistance in your department.
· Work with maintenance personnel to keep your machines in good shape.
· Do daily/weekly/monthly maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
· Help us to maximize the shop layout now and in the future.
· Suggest and help us to implement new ways of improving shop performance.
· Keep yourself busy and engaged in your work. Minimize idle time.
