Production Engineer/Technologist, Heavy Oil

Baytex is seeking a candidate for the following position in its Calgary, Alberta office. This position will support the Heavy Oil Business Unit and will report to the Production Engineering Manager. The Production Engineer/Technologist is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and developing optimal production strategies for various Heavy Oil assets. They will strive to maximize value by applying innovative optimization and problem-solving skills. This individual will work closely with the Operations team to provide operational support and technical guidance. They will demonstrate leadership of Baytex’s safety values and policies with staff, vendors, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, well-organized team player who demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Preference will be given to those with heavy oil experience.
