JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily well operations, monitoring production rates, and optimizing artificial lift systems and facilities. Additionally, the engineer manages chemical treatment programs and workover projects to ensure effective and economical production of oil and natural gas wells. Close collaboration with field operations, completions, drilling, land, and marketing teams is essential to optimize field development.
Primary Responsibilities
•Manage and optimize production rates in area of responsibility
•Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to improve production performance and maximize economics
•Coordinate with the field operations team to optimize artificial lift, improve base decline and reduce downtime
•Lead regularly scheduled well reviews with field operations and reservoir engineering
•Review lease operating expenses for completeness, accuracy and spending trends
•Identify areas for cost reductions within lease operating expenses and capital spending to ensure budget compliance
•Manage and optimize chemical treatment program to prevent failures and minimize downtime
•Create AFEs for workovers, flowbacks, facility maintenance, and subsurface repairs
•Create, coordinate, and execute workover procedures with wellsite supervisors and service providers
•Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
•Perform other duties and projects assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
•Strong understanding of production optimization, and well-intervention techniques
•Knowledge of artificial lift systems, particularly plunger lift, gas lift and cap string
•Knowledge of industry regulations and standards
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment
•Ability to prioritize work and focus efforts to deliver value
•Independent, self-motivated, organized and results oriented
•Proficiency in industry softwares such as Wellview, Harmony, Whitson, Spotfire, PowerBI or equivalent
Qualifications
•Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
•Minimum 3 years of experience
in Production, Operations and/or Reservoir Engineering in the Exploration & Production (E&P) or relevant industry
Work Environment
This job operates in both a professional office environment and a field environment.
Travel
