Available Job Opportunity: Procurement Specialist
Location: Vaughan, Ontario
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, procurement specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the procurement process within the organisation. The duties involve conducting procurement projects, finalizing contracts, implementing and managing procurement policies, and overall management of procurement processes for mining operations and projects based in Canada and the United States.
Job Responsibilities:
•Conducting procurement projects, including market research, bid package preparation, commercial negotiations, and preparing contracts for final signature;
•Supervision over the execution of the Procurement Policy;
•Preparation of procurements reports, board memos, presentations, and other supporting documents;
•Development and verification of Procurement Annual Plans;
•Consolidation of requirements within the annual procurement plans and those outside the annual plan;
•Analysis of the consolidation potential for selected product categories (global)
•Participation in the development of global procurement strategies and within these strategies procurement tools such as TCO templates, cost analysis templates, supplier profiles, negotiation scripts, etc.
•Management of global procurement categories;
•Business support for the CMS system. Development of the tool for the above according to business needs;
•Business support for the SAP Ariba system (internal employees and suppliers). Development of the tool according to business needs;
•Support local procurement employees (training, advising on the execution of KGHMI's Procurement Policy).
Required/Related Work Experience:
•At least 5 years of work experience in Procurement or Supply Management, preferably in the mining sector.
•Proven expertise in procurement platforms and ERP systems including SAP Ariba, JD Edwards, and related tools.
•Experience working in multicultural and international environments will be an asset.
Education Required:
•Higher Degree in supply chain management, project management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is required.
•MA/MSc/MBA or relevant certification is a plus.
Required Skills:
•In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices.
•Experience with modern sourcing and the SAP Ariba procurement system.
•Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk.
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
•Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
•Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
•Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
•Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
•Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
•Fluent written and verbal command of English.
•Ability to communicate in and speak Polish would be an asset.
