As a Process Technician, you will support new product manufacturing for customers as well as the development, optimization, and scaling of end-of-line manufacturing processes for advanced magnetic materials. This role will focus on a set of process technologies including chemical synthesis of nanoparticles, magnetic powder drying and conveyance, powder thermal reactor processes, powder milling, powder compaction, magnet assembly, coating, inspection, packaging, and process documentation. You will be matched to a subset of these processes based on fit to your skills and experience. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable in a dynamic production environment, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Operate equipment to fabricate magnets for customers
- Perform process development and optimization tasks needed to scale-up experimental activity to volume production
- Assist with equipment modification, set up, and qualification
- Care for and clean process equipment and work areas
- Collaborate closely with Engineering to improve processes and magnet properties.
- Participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to address product and process issues
- Keep accurate and complete records of activities performed and assist the operations team with the generation process documentation needed for high volume manufacturing
- Create and update process documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and preventative maintenance procedures
- Provide training and hands-on guidance to other team members as processes are developed and scaled
- Maintain a "safety first" mindset, promoting and performing in accordance with Niron's safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a high ownership, customer focused, commitment to providing high quality product
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
- Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 lb.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Comfortable working with hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and software-based control systems.
- Ability to work independently, self-direct and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Experience maintaining equipment and workspace cleanliness
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Experience working with nanoparticles or nanomaterials in a laboratory and volume manufacturing environment
- Experience using process development and/or manufacturing equipment in one or more of the following areas:
- - powder metallurgy
- liquid chemical processes such as etching, plating, precipitation
- compaction, pressing
- metal forming & finishing
- metal coating
- product assembly
- product inspection

The baseline structure of Niron's 2nd Shift is Monday to Thursday 3PM to 12AM. However, your work may necessitate flexibility beyond stated hours.
- $23.00-30.00/hour for 36 hours/week with base rate + 10% shift differential. Eligible for standard overtime calculations based on that effective rate.
