The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a

Predictive Maintenance Technician

to join our

Reliability Team

in Voisey’s Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. Relocation to the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador will be required for this position.

This is a permanent position, working a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation.

As a Predictive Maintenance Technician, you will a ctively provide data gathering, technical analysis and generate actionable insights, as part of a world class predictive maintenance program across fixed plant equipment. Your experience and skills will assist with vibration monitoring, oil analysis, predictive analytics, thermography analysis, implementing new technologies and preventing significant unplanned failures.

Additionally, in this position you will:

- Analyze and interpret data from vibration analysis, infrared imaging, oil analysis, ultrasound, alignment, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to determine asset health.

- Implement advanced predictive maintenance techniques to identify equipment deterioration and prevent unplanned failures.

- Support the deployment of predictive analytics , including machine learning algorithms, to enhance failure prediction and prevention.

- Document, manage, and report the asset health score for assets within the predictive maintenance program, ensuring accurate tracking and communication of asset condition.

- Collaborate with the planning and scheduling team to ensure defects identified in the predictive maintenance program are prioritized and addressed in the maintenance schedule based on asset risk.

- Assist the Maintenance team with troubleshooting equipment problems providing technical expertise as needed.

About You

Education:

- Vibration Analyst Category 1, 2, or 3 certification is required.

- Vibration Analyst Category 2 or 3 is preferred.

- Red Seal in a mechanical trade, engineering technologist diploma, or a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certification required.

Experience:

- A minimum of 5 years experience working within maintenance and/or a reliability department within a heavy industrial environment.

- Experience analyzing and diagnosing equipment defects using predictive maintenance techniques.

- Familiar with using a CMMS to track and manage work (SAP experience is preferred).

Skills:

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

- Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment.

- Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner while adhering to Vale policies and procedures.
